I'm sorry another bummer unhappy post-I promise the next one will be happy:)
As you may or may not know Matt is still laid off from his job~since the 2nd week of December:( He is supposed to be getting called back in a week or 2-I sure hope so ,we ran out of savings awhile back and will be playing catch up for awhile-err! He has been looking for something else since Nov(he usually gets laid off for a bit in the winter and w/the economy he's in a bad job,so he started looking even before he was laid off) but there is nothing out there.
They held an employee meeting last week to discuss the call backs. As it turns out they are going to only call back Matt(the concrete foreman),his lead guy,and 2 excavators-they will be a combine crew and do both jobs. But since they only need 1 foreman and the other guy has been there longer Matt is being demoted,they havn't said yet but we have a feeling he'll be losing his company truck. They also may be cutting his pay:(....and then they ask everyone in the company to sign a contract giving up there vacation pay. Yes he has been there 13 years and in that time earned a pettily 3 weeks and they want him to give them up!! As it is they have no sick pay-so now if your sick or there's a rain day ,you get NO pay:( But it was that or they said they'd make cuts elsewhere. They also cut back there IRA match to 1%,from the 3% they had before. So needless to say he is really job hunting and we are even considering relocating. Please pray he can find something soon!
