The ENT

Today we had to go see the ENT~ well T did anyway(whom by the way we happened to see last night at diner,he (the ENT)and his wife were seated in a booth right behind us). T has been complaining on and off for a few weeks that his ear hurt. Being the 'mother of the year' that I am ,I couldn't remember which ear the tube had to be taken out of last time we went in. So I figured ,one of 2 things-the tube was falling out and that was the pain...or it was the ear w/no tube and he was getting on infection-err! As it turns out it was the ear w/the tube still in,and it was in fact coming out,so the DR removed the tube....BUT~this poor child,w/him there always seems to be the but (cant the kid catch a break???) As the tube falls out usually the hole from it starts to grow shut-his did not. So he has a hole. The DR feels it will heal on its own(I really hope so) so we need to go back in 4 months to have it checked. Until then we need to be careful w/swimming (he said baths were fine) that he doesnt get to much water in his ear b/c he'd get water in there and get an infection:( If the hole doesn't close he would have to have surgery to have a patch placed over the hole....but we'll just pray instead that the hole closes-he does seem to be a child w/super human healing.
